about

Hey, guys, it's David Ferguson. We have all struggled through so much fear and uncertainty over this last year. We have suffered losses of friends and family with no public way to meet together and collectively grieve.

Dave Martin and I both lost beloved cats. He lost his grandmother. Friends have lost their parents, their brothers and sisters.

In the weeks since my cat Travis passed away I've been mostly unable to write anything, so I pulled out this Tim Buckley song that I knew through Elizabeth Fraser's version with This Mortal Coil. I found a key I could work in and Dave and I went to work, pouring into it every bittersweet droplet of grief we could wring from our souls.

The results, we hope, will have you dancing endlessly in each other's arms, skinny-dipping on summer nights, and holding each other close after what we've all been through.

This song is dedicated to Tanya White, Lois Camilla Witcher Ragland, Miss Kitty and Sweet Travis. The pain we feel over losing you is a testament to the magnitude of the love that bonded us. God rest your souls. We will miss you forever.

Astral Summer

lyrics

Long afloat on shipless oceans
I did all my best to smile
'Til your singing eyes and fingers
Drew me loving to your isle
And you sang
Sail to me, sail to me
Let me enfold you

Here I am, here I am
Waiting to hold you

Did I dream you dreamed about me?
Were you hare when I was fox?
Now my foolish boat is leaning
Broken lovelorn on your rocks
For you sing
Touch me not, touch me not
Come back tomorrow

Oh my heart
Oh my heart shies from the sorrow

Well I'm as puzzled as the newborn child
I'm as riddled as the tide
Should I stand amid the breakers?
Or should I lie with death my bride?
Hear me sing
Swim to me, swim to me
Let me enfold you

Here I am, here I am
Waiting to hold you
